The FAA has issued the Record of Approval (ROA) for Centennial Airport’s Part 150 Noise Exposure and Land Use Compatibility Program. In the ROA, FAA determined that the overall program complies with Federal requirements, including the Aviation Safety and Noise Abatement Act of 1979 and 14 CFR Part 150. Therefore, FAA approved the overall program on August 12, 2008. The ROA also presents the FAA’s determination on each of the program’s 12 recommendations.
Unfortunately the recommendations with the most potential impact to Centennial Airport's noise reduction were dismissed by the FAA. Again a huge disappointment and in our opinion quite a waste of resources to even suggest noise reduction measures, which the FAA is known to reject. Almost 10 years went by since this study was kicked off and the net impact for reduction of noise for the public is in our opinion basically zero. Extremely disappointing outcome for the public living close to Centennial Airport!
